Believe In Yourself; Follow Your Dreams No Matter What

Many of us have dreams that we aspire to achieve, but how often do we make them a reality?

What’s holding us back from realizing our true potential?

Sometimes, after hitting obstacles in life, we start questioning our competence. We lose our ambition, faith, and enthusiasm because we experienced failure, we settle into an average life, and the dreams that make us feel alive become powerless vague wishes.

When you settle  into fear and doubt, success feels out of grasp.

The level of success we can attain correlates with our beliefs. You have to believe in yourself. If you don't believe in yourself, who will?

It’s all about having faith in your capabilities. When you do that, you overcome self-doubt and have the courage to take action.

Here are four ways to strengthen your self-belief and follow your dreams in spite of challenges.

1. Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

It’s much more convenient to stay within the boundaries where you feel comfortable than to face the fear of venturing beyond them.

But to enter the growth zone, you have to step out of your comfort zone. Your comfort zone excludes the opportunities and life experiences that can boost your self-confidence.

Launching Prettykind is way out of my comfort zone. I took a lot of baby steps to get this far. My introduction video is another baby step.

Take baby steps.

Try little things that make you uncomfortable as an experiment and see what happens. You may learn valuable lessons and boldness to take bigger steps.

2. Take Action and Start Now

A major difference between the people who live out their dreams and people who don’t is one thing - Action.

Do you have a vision for your life? What are your dreams and aspirations? How do you plan to achieve them? An execution plan is essential to achieving your dreams.

Write your goals and list down the steps required to achieve them, then take the first step. :-)

Taking the first step is always the scariest, but it will all be worth it if you keep going. The first step can be as simple as taking a course to learn a new skill or sending emails.

Once you start, you’ll find yourself rolling and trusting the path.

3. Don’t Give Up

In the process of chasing your dreams, you’ll face disappointments and failures. When failure happens, you’ll have a choice to make. You could either listen to the dream crushers who’ll say, ‘I told you so’, and give up, or you could treat the failure as a learning curve that affirms your faith in yourself.

There are numerous stories of successful people around us. All of these people have failed more than they have succeeded. There secret is that they don't stay down, they get back up!

Walt Disney was rejected from a job because he was not creative enough; did he give up? No, he believed in himself and founded a successful mass media entertainment company that is ruling the world.

Discover the greatness in you!

4. Stop Trying to Please Everyone

It is not humanly possible to make everyone happy.

Abraham Lincoln said, “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”

If you listen to people who tell you that ‘you are not worthy of success,’ then guess what? You’re not going to reach the finish line.

Ignore negativity around you and keep on moving towards your dream. Always pursue what resonates with your core self irrespective of other’s opinions. It’s your life; live it on your own terms!

The only two things that can hold you back from achieving your dreams are self-doubt and allowing others to sway your decisions.

You can do wonders if you start believing in yourself no matter what!

Work consistently on improving your self-belief system, and you’ll begin to see amazing things happening in your life.

Thank you for giving us some of your time! :-)
